                       PROHIBITION OF BULLYING

Nazareth's philosophy has always been that every individual is a unique and essential being.  Our community was created to live that philosophy and still does.  Bullying and/or hazing are inherently unacceptable within such a philosophical environment and are also specifically, and clearly, banned by written policy.

Nazareth has a very firm and clear policy regarding its prohibition of any bullying and/or hazing at, or on, Nazareth grounds.  All staff were given a copy of that policy as soon as it was approved years ago.  All staff receive yearly refresher update training on our prohibition of bullying and hazing.  Staff receive a great deal of training at orientation and yearly thereafter on Trauma-informed Care with its inherent emphasis on how easily trauma states can be recreated through even simple forms of bullying behavior.  All outside organizations using our grounds or facilities are offered a copy of this policy and asked to sign a consent form stating that they understand their use of our grounds and facilities is dependent upon their acceptance of this policy and its principles.
